I just wrote a REALLY long post about Wakefield and the Sox, which of course blogger lost. Will have to rewrite it on my lunch break, but for now, this picture just makes me smile:

That’s right, that’s Tim Wakefield executing a textbook slide to avoid the tag at home. Just not every day you see an American League pitcher do that. Love it. MUCH longer post to come later.

I feel your pain… oh how I hate when you put in a lengthy post and Blogger decides to flush it down the toilet like last night’s dinner. I try to remind myself to copy what I write each time before posting, that way if the cheesy “Recover Post” doesn’t work, I can just paste it back in. I’ve learned the hard way too many times.

I am so happy to see Wake have a good outing. I have to wonder if it has anything to do with his batterymate. Wake was 0-4 with Tek catching and when Mirabelli comes back, he has a fabulous outing.

Stay healthy Doug. Wake and Red Sox Nation needs you.

By the way, copied this before I published… just in case πŸ˜‰

It wasn’t the only thing textbook about that sequence. Sveum came through with one of his textbooks misreads of the situation.

It worked out well, but how the hell does Sveum get the brilliant idea to send Wakefield (who’s running style and ability is less than stellar) all the way from first home?

I thought he was dead to rights at home, but Wakefield pulled off a great slide. Good stuff, no thanks to Sveum.

You people are stealing everything I talked about in the post I lost!!! πŸ™‚

When I saw Sveum sending him home I just cringed but thankfully this one worked out. Poor Johnny getting walked in his final at bat. He should have hit for the cycle…

May 9th: Wakefield runs his record to 4-1 (3.18 ERA) with a 13-5 laugher over Oakland.
May 12th: finy trades for Wakefield in her fantasy league
June 6th: Wakefield drops his 5th straight decision, leaving him 4-6 (5.13 ERA) for the season.
June 7th: finy releases Wakefield from her fantasy team
June 12th: Wakefield absolutely dominates the Cubs

I think we all know what happened here.

You released Wake? For shammmmmme!

It was for the greater good. FINY took one for the team. She was the touch of Death to Wakes (Sorry FINY but you can’t argue against damning evidence like this).
It needed to be done, and I applaud FINY for having the courage and wisdom to realize her mistake.
FINY the fans of the Red Sox Salute you!!

Thank you for releasing Wakefield so that he could prosper again. I loved watching that chug around the bases, it was hilarious. Great game tonight against the Reds. Go Sox!
